Firearm laws are subject to frequent change. This coursework should not be considered legal advice or a definitive interpretation of the law. To determine the applicability of firearms laws to specific situations that you may become involved in, we strongly recommend you consult with a licensed attorney who is competent about your specific defensive firearm issues.

It is our responsibility to know the laws and ordinances governing a person’s ability to carry a firearm before we do so in that area. County and or city ordinances can be more restrictive than state laws governing a person’s ability to carry a weapon. We must do our due diligence to know and conform to the laws and ordinances in the areas that we intend to carry a weapon. For example, Clackamas County and Multnomah County are very different when it comes to openly carrying a weapon within their county, and it is our responsibility to know what restrictions there may be prior to attempting to do so in those counties.
