Firearm Familiarization
“Show and Tell and Shoot“
Plan for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. We will meet in the parking lot of a local shooting range and have a conversation about familiarity with firearms and talk through any feelings that may come up when learning how to safely use them. This ensures that we all feel comfortable with proceeding into the range.
Eye protection is required and I will have both regular safety glasses and the type that go over glasses for you to keep, unless you want to bring your own. I will have earplugs and electronic earmuffs that enhance voices while blocking the loud noises for you to borrow.
Once we find a shooting lane and get setup, I will explain each firearm one at a time and their unique characteristics and safety features, explain basic marksmanship principles, demonstrate loading and firing a magazine, and then you will load and fire a set of rounds for that firearm before moving to the next firearm.
I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about purchasing your first firearm, concealed handgun licenses, safe storage, and firearm maintenance.
